Wexler ai team visit The Shire for a two day retreat

Two days of company planning, intentional wellness, and team connection for a London based team of 14.
“One of the best investments we’ve made this year. We’ll be back.”- Gregg, Founder
Wexler, joined us at The Shire for a two day offsite this February designed to balance meaningful planning with proper wellness and intentional recovery.

The team travelled up from central London by train, were collected by our driver at Milton Keynes station, and arrived for coffee and a light breakfast in the farmhouse meeting room.

Both mornings were kept deliberately clear for focus, with company updates and hackathon planning sessions set up and ready to run, so the team could get straight into it without any fuss.

After lunch, the schedule shifted into reset mode. We ran a simple rotation so everyone could make full use of the facilities and practitioners without feeling rushed: sauna and lake dips, swimming, and a sound bath, with space between sessions to shower, change, and properly slow down.

The group stayed nearby at Escapade Silverstone, enjoying a 3 course meal there and the premium accommodation, since it is just 10 minutes around the corner and they’re a partner of ours.

On day two, the Wexler team returned for presentations in the morning, followed by yoga before lunch. The afternoon was all about team building, with a scavenger hunt across the grounds. Split into small teams, it gave everyone a shared challenge that felt fun rather than forced, and it ended the retreat with energy, laughter, and the kind of collaboration you want to take back into work.

The day was designed to help guests strengthen mental resilience, not by pushing harder, but by learning to be present and release the noise that feeds feelings of overwhelm.

Set on our 150-acre re-wilded countryside retreat, with lakes, woodland trails, a sauna and outdoor spaces for reflection, the retreat embodied our commitment to simple, purposeful wellness experiences that help people reset, reconnect and return to daily life with renewed clarity.

Following their visit to The Shire, founder Greg said:
“We recently spent two days at The Shire with a team of 14. It was a great blend of work and wellness with mornings spent in their beautiful meeting room and afternoons making use of the facilities and practitioners including tennis, yoga, sound bath, sauna, swimming and a scavenger hunt around the grounds. We gave George and his team a brief and they nailed it. We just turned up. Being so close to London was a bonus and honestly one of the best investments we’ve made this year. We’ll be back.”

Why a retreat like this matters:

What came through over the two days is what we see time and again in the offsites we host:

  • When mornings are protected for deep work, teams leave with clearer priorities and faster decisions.

  • When time outdoors is built in, conversations open up and teams connect more honestly.

  • When wellbeing is part of the plan, not an afterthought, people return with more energy and focus.

  • When logistics are simple, like a quick train from London and an easy overnight nearby, everyone can be fully present.

Bring your team to The Shire:

If your team could use time to step back, think clearly, and reconnect properly, we’d love to host you.
